Deputy speaker built market for women

In commemoration of the International Day of Rural Women 2021, marked globally every 15th of October, women are recognized for their crucial roles in ensuring the sustainability of rural households and communities nationwide.

Today, representatives from my office witnessed the Empowerment of Traders and the Commissioning of two modern markets; Nkwo-Ebu Prosperity Market, Abba and Nworie-Okpu Prosperity Market, Abajah in the Nwangele Local Government Area, Imo State, built by the Deputy Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Amarachi Chyna Iwuanyanwu, KSC.

The 3R Government understands that women are vital in ensuring household food security. Therefore, there is a need to continue to empower our women and raise awareness about the inequality and struggles they face in our society.

A special thanks to the Deputy Speaker IMHA and his wife, the Chief of Staff of Imo State Government – Sir Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Vulnerable Groups, Imo State – Hon. Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu, the National Council of Women’s Societies and a host of other dignitaries who graced the event. In honour of all the work done to empower Imo women, it is my prayer that they will enjoy the fruits of their labour.

Happy #internationaldayofruralwomen 2021!
